In Sanskrit, the term “Akshaya” means “everlasting” or “indestructible,” while “Tritiya” refers to the third day of the lunar month. As a result, Akshaya Tritiya is seen as an auspicious day for fresh beginnings, investments, and the launch of new initiatives. It is thought that any effort begun on this day will be prosperous and successful.

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the cosmos, takes the form of Parashurama on Akshaya Tritiya. Parashurama is one of Lord Vishnu’s eleven incarnations and is famed for his enormous power and heroism. It is also claimed that Lord Ganesha, the remover of hurdles, began writing the Mahabharata on Akshaya Tritiya, one of ancient India’s two great Sanskrit epics.

Here are some ways you can impress Goddess Lakshmi on Akshaya Tritiya 2023:

• Puja and offerings: Offer prayers to Goddess Lakshmi with devotion and sincerity. Perform a Lakshmi puja and offer her flowers, incense, and sweets such as laddoos, modaks, or kheer.
• Fasting: Fasting is a common practice on Akshaya Tritiya. It is believed that fasting on this day can bring wealth and prosperity. If you choose to fast, avoid eating grains, non-vegetarian food, and onions and garlic.
• Charity: On this auspicious day, donate to the less fortunate. Donating food, clothing, or money to the needy is considered an act of selflessness and can bring the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi.
• Gold purchase: It is believed that buying gold on Akshaya Tritiya is auspicious and can bring wealth and prosperity. Consider buying gold jewelry or coins as an offering to Goddess Lakshmi.
• Mantra chanting: Chanting Lakshmi mantras such as “Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Kamale Kamalalaye Praseed Praseed” can invoke the blessings of the goddess and attract wealth and abundance.
