For inhabitants in Maharashtra and the Konkan area, this marks the first day of the year.
Gudi Padwa will be observed on Saturday, 2 April 2022 this year. In Maharashtra, the occasion is quite important, and people celebrate it grandiosely.
Gudi Padwa is derived from two words: "gudi," which means Lord Brahma's flag or symbol, and "padwa," which denotes the first day of the moon's phase.

History of Gudi Padwa
As per Hindu mythology, Lord Brahma fostered the cosmos on Gudi Padwa. It is also stated that on this day, Brahma established days, weeks, months, and years.
Ugadi is regarded as the first day of the universe's formation, and it is for this reason that Lord Brahma is venerated on Gudi Padwa.

Significance of Gudi Padwa

On Gudi Padwa, individuals begin their day with a conventional oil bath, then dress in new attire and adorn their dwellings.
A Rangoli is formed with flowers and colours, and the gudi is put at the front door or on a windowsill.
Gudi is thought to be a triumphant figure. People pray and eat neem leaves once they are placed. Gudi is constructed by wrapping a piece of fresh fabric around a 5-foot-long bamboo stalk. It is topped with neem leaves and a sugar candy garland. The stick is set atop a pot made of silver or bronze.
One of the finest parts of the Gudi Padwa celebration is the prasad. It is produced using neem and coconut pulp.

If you liked this article or want to share some information with us then do write us in the comment section below.

For Astrology, Numerology, and Reiki Services – Contact us at 9324801420 or drop your queries at  askus@jaymahakaal.com

For more such updates do like our page @jaymahakaal01 and keep visiting www.jaymahakaal.com
