नवरात्रि त्योहार का हिंदू धर्म में काफी महत्व है. ये त्योहार देश के कोने-कोने में मनाया जाता है. चार प्रकार के मौसमी नवरात्र होते हैं, लेकिन जो सितंबर-अक्टूबर के महीनों में पड़ती है उसे शरद या शारदीय नवरात्रि कहा जाता है और यह सबसे ज्यादा मनाया जाने वाला त्योहार है. हिन्‍दू कैलेंडर के अनुसार यह नवरात्रि शरद ऋतु में अश्विन शुक्‍ल पक्ष से शुरू होती हैं और पूरे नौ दिनों तक चलती हैं. इस बार शारदीय नवरात्रि 17 अक्टोबर से शुरू होकर 24 अक्‍टूबर, 2020 तक हैं. 25 अक्‍टूबर, 2020 को विजयदशमी या दशहरा (विजयदशमी ओर दशहरा) मनाया जाएगा.

कलश स्थापना का शुभ मुहूर्त नवरात्रि 17 अक्टोबर से शुरू होगी और इसी दिन कलश की स्थापना की जाएगी. मां दुर्गा की कृपा पाने के लिए कलश की स्थापना हमेशा उचित मुहूर्त में ही करनी चाहिए. इस बार नवरात्रि पर कलश स्थापना का शुभ मुहूर्त प्रात: 6 बजकर 23 मिनट से प्रात: 10 बजकर 12 मिनट तक है। घटस्थापना के लिए अभिजित मुहूर्त प्रात:काल 11:44 से 12:29 तक रहेगा।

कलश स्थापना से जुड़े खास नियम -कलश स्थापना हमेशा शुभ मुहूर्त में करें. -कलश स्थापना करने के लिए पूजन स्थल से अलग एक पाटे पर लाल व सफेद कपड़ा बिछाएं. इस पर अक्षत से अष्टदल बनाकर इस पर जल से भरा कलश स्थापित करें. -कलश का मुंह खुला ना रखें, उसे किसी चीज से ढक देना चाहिए. कलश को किसी ढक्कन से ढका है, तो उसे चावलों से भर दें और उसके बीचों-बीच एक नारियल भी रखें. -पूजा करने के बाद मां को दोनों समय भोग लगाएं, सबसे सरल और उत्तम भोग हैं लौंग और बताशा. -मां के लिए लाल फूल सर्वोत्तम होता है, पर मां को आक, मदार, दूब और तुलसी बिल्कुल ना चढ़ाएं. -नवरात्रि के दौरान पूरे नौ दिन तक अपना खान-पान और आहार सात्विक रखें.
