It is believed that on this day, Lord Vishnu, one of the major deities in Hinduism, rests and blesses his devotees. Many Hindus observe a fast on this day, which involves abstaining from food and water for a full day or consuming only specific foods.

The reason behind not eating before Ekadashi is to prepare the body and mind for the fast. By abstaining from food before the fast, one can prepare the digestive system and reduce the impact of hunger pangs during the fast. Additionally, it is believed that by observing the fast, one can purify the mind, body, and soul and gain spiritual benefits.

The fast on Ekadashi is also believed to have health benefits. It is said to improve digestion, boost immunity, and promote weight loss. However, it is important to note that fasting should be done under the guidance of a healthcare professional, especially for individuals with underlying health conditions.

Mohini Ekadasi 2023: Date and Tithi

Ekadashi Tithi Starts : 08:28 PM on April 30, 2023 Ekadashi Tithi Ends : 10:09 PM on May 01, 2023 As per Udaya Tithi, Mohini Ekadashi will be kept on 2 May.

Parana means breaking the fast. Many Hindus observe a strict fast on Ekadashi, which includes abstaining from certain foods, including rice.

The reason behind not eating rice on Ekadashi is primarily based on the belief that rice is considered to be a Tamasic food. Tamasic foods are those that are believed to harm the mind and body, and they are best avoided during a period of spiritual observance.

In contrast, Satvik foods are considered to be pure and are recommended for consumption during Ekadashi fasting. These include fruits, nuts, dairy products, and non-grain vegetables. These foods are believed to have a positive impact on the mind and body, and they help to keep the mind calm and focused during the fast.

Overall, the decision to avoid rice during Ekadashi is a personal choice based on individual beliefs and traditions.

Mohini Ekadashi 2023: Significance

<img src="http://localhost:10004/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/mohini-ekadashi-Jaymahakaal.jpg" alt="Mohini Ekadashi Significance
