In India, Hindus celebrate Navratri annually. Among them two are given priority, Chaitra Navratri and Sharad Navratri. The other two Navratris are called Gupt Navratri.

The Navratri celebration is held twice a year. Chaitra Navratri is observed in April, and this year it will take place from April 2 to April 11, 2022. It is a joyful time, also known as Vasant Navratri, since this coincides with the springtime.
It is a prominent Hindu occasion that is commemorated with excitement and devotion. It is a nine-day ritual held to venerate the nine avatars of Goddess Durga. Fasts and nine-day pujas are observed by Hindu believers throughout India. The nine-day event commemorates the triumph of virtue over evil.

When is Chaitra Navratri 2022?

This year Chaitra Navratri will start from April 2 (Saturday) and go on till April 11 (Monday). The Ashtami will be observed on April 9, whereas Navami is falling on April 10.

• Chaitra Navratri Day 1: April 2, 2022 (Saturday) Pratipada: On this day, people do Ghatasthapana, Chandra Darshana and Shailputri Puja
• Chaitra Navratri Day 2: April 3, 2022 (Sunday) Dwitiya: – On Day 2, devotees do Sindhara Dooj and Brahmacharini Puja
• Chaitra Navratri Day 3: April 4, 2022 (Monday) Tritiya: On Day 3 of Navratri, devotees usually perform Gauri Puja, Saubhagya Teej, and Chandraghanta Puja.
• Chaitra Navratri Day 4: April 5, 2022 (Tuesday) Chaturthi: On Day 4 of Navratri, also known as Chaturthi, devotees Kushmanda Puja and Vinayaka Chaturthi.
• Chaitra Navratri Day 5: April 6, 2022 (Wednesday) Panchami: On Day 5, people perform Naag Puja, Lakshmi Panchami, and Skandamata Puja.
• Chaitra Navratri Day 6: April 7, 2022 (Thursday) Shasthi: On Day 6, Skanda Sashti, Yamuna Chhath, and Katyayani Puja are performed.
• Chaitra Navratri Day 7: April 8, 2022 (Friday) Saptami: On Day 7, Maha Saptami and Kalaratri Puja takes place.
• Chaitra Navratri Day 8: April 9, 2022 (Saturday): Annapurna Ashtami -Sandhi Puja takes place on this day.
• Chaitra Navratri Day 9: April 10, 2022 (Sunday): Maa Siddhidatri is worshipped on this day.
